Wool is a natural material from sheep and several other animals and it is the fine insulating hair fibers from the fur that are used.

The wool fibers do not withstand the same rough treatment as cotton, so you should just gently rub the stains with Lemon Soap. For particularly delicate garments such as cashmere and alpaca or non-washable wool garments, we recommend using lemon cleaning foam.

How to remove stains from wool

Plain wool
Lemon soap is effective and gentle on your woolen garments. Put the garment in lukewarm water and gently rub the soap on the stains. If the stain is difficult to remove - leave the garment in water after you have rubbed in the soap.

Repeat if necessary.

How to wash Wool that can be washed in the machine

Plain wool

Wash the garment in the machine together with other wool garments on the wool program 30-40 degrees with wool wash . All garments containing wool should be washed as wool. Do not overfill the machine when washing wool - it needs more space than other fabrics. Any stains are pre-treated with lemon soap.
Fine wool

Wash fine wool on a hand wash program at 30 degrees in the machine with Wool wash - it is more gentle than normal hand wash. See our Wool guide for more information about wool. Any stains are pre-treated with lemon soap.
